Support Team

Alex is supported by an enthusiastic team of professional staff and event volunteers who share her passion for animals and her dedication to rescue and conservation.

Colleen Shanhun
Colleen is our fantastic Business Administration Manager, an integral part of our team and the first point of contact when you call Houndstooth Studio. As well as managing a myriad of administration tasks, Colleen handles client enquiries, bookings, gift vouchers, and all phone calls. You’ll also see her at our fundraising events for animal charities and in our Houndstooth Studio marquee at various community pet events.

Prior to Houndstooth Studio, Colleen held a number of high-level government positions in analysis, research and project management. Colleen joined the Houndstooth Studio team in 2013, but Colleen and Alex have been colleagues and friends for more than 30 years. She is a dog Mum to Digby the Tenterfield Terrier adopted from the Dogs Refuge Home of WA.

Dave Forster
Dave not only volunteers his time to play Santa every year at the Dogs Refuge Home of WA & Houndstooth Studio ‘Santa Paws’ fundraising event, he also takes care of all of our IT and computer needs and makes sure our digital presence is maintained.

Marshmallow
Alex’s heart dog Marshmallow is always by her side when she works in the office, editing images and placing orders. She was adopted from No Pup Cleft Behind in 2020 and has overcome many health issues in her life. She is adored by all who meet her and is doted on by Alex. Dogs rule and special needs dogs rule even more!
