There are 30+ stalls, dog health checks, giveaways, a photobooth, food … something for everyone and their pooch. Pip the Black Beetle and Pixel will be there so come along and say Hi! Dogs are welcome on leads.

The adorable Luwanna

Meet the adorable Luwanna, the 4 year old koala from Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.  As part of my induction to the sanctuary I was very lucky to have the job of holding her and introducing her to some visitors. The rumour that I shed a tear when I met her may or may not be true, haha. I LOVE koalas and was in complete awe of Luwanna.

Behind the Scenes!

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Tasmania

Alex takes a break from photography to smell the roses, or in this case, hang out with the kangaroos at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Tasmania. Put this place on your “MUST VISIT” list when in Tassie!

Photo by the awesome Joe Shemesh, of Stromfront Film.
Gear: Canon 1DX body and 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron Australia lens with COKIN PURE Harmonie UV filter, the thinnest and lightest filter in the world.

Look who held onto my finger today. Max the 6 month old baby wombat from Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Isn’t he the cutest little guy?! There are so many incredible rescued native Australian animals here, just like Max, all of whom owe their lives to the dedicated staff, rescuers and carers who are linked through Bonorong. More adorable pics coming soon!

Homeless and Abused Animal Rescue Team (H.A.A.R.T)

Meet little Misha, currently in foster care with H.A.A.R.T (Homeless and Abused Animal Rescue Team). She actually has all her teeth, but this front one sticks out.  She is a sweet gal, of older persuasion, who is looking for her forever home – all her details can be found at To help dogs like Misha (and lots of other animals) be sure to check out the 2013 Fur Ball and grab your tix while you still can!

Wet Weather Photography Gear

Who is that under there? Oh, it’s Alex decked out from H2T in the latest wet weather photography gear from AquaTech – which means she is ready for this weeks photo shoot at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Hobart Tasmania. Houndstooth Studio is partnering with Bonorong to photograph their animal residents and help them raise much needed funds and awareness for the building of Tasmania’s first 24 hour wildlife hospital. We can’t wait to start on this important project … and will have a short doco to show you soon afterwards too, filmed by Gary Rhodes the creative genius behind Agro the puppet from Agro’s Cartoon Connection. So you will get to meet the animals of Bonorong, learn more about the future wildlife hospital and catch all the behind-the-scenes action. See you all when we get back!

NB: Photographers – You can purchase your own Aqua Tech wet weather gear from Team Digital in Perth.
