“Our new FREE THE BEARS journey visits not only the Agra Bear Sanctuary but also travels south to the Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Centre. You have the opportunity to work at both sanctuaries and meet the very bears you are supporting. FREE THE BEARS CEO MATT HUNT will join you at Bannerghatta where the last Dancing Bear was removed from the streets of India and for the first time ever, acclaimed award winning animal photographer Alex Cearns will be joining the journey to help teach you how to get the most out of your animal photography.
Few places in the world enthral travellers like India. This fantastic journey visits some of the real icons India is famous for as well as having a firm focus on the diverse array of wildlife found on the sub continent. You will dedicate part of your time on the journey in helping out at the Agra and Bangalore Bear sanctuaries. This journey starts in the hustle and bustle of India’s capital, Delhi and then heads to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, also known as the ‘Pink City’.
This vibrant and colourful city is a treat with its bazaars, palaces and havelis. From Jaipur our journey focuses on the animals of India, as we drive to the Ranthambhore National Park where we embark on game drives into the jungle surrounds in search of Jackal, Leopard, Tiger and Sloth Bear in their natural habitat.
We spend two days at the park before driving to Agra, our base for the next 5 days. Here we visit the greatest monument to love, the stunning Taj Mahal, before spending four days at the AGRA Bear Rescue Facility getting “up close and personal” with the bears as we have a very exclusive opportunity to help out with the day to day running of the sanctuary. The time spent here are an absolute highlight for animal and bear lovers as we get to witness the day to day life of bears in the sanctuary as well as being able to directly contribute to their well being.
This is a great opportunity to travel on the adventure of a lifetime, see the wonderful work Free the Bears are doing first hand and to get up close and personal with the bears where YOU can make a difference. $800 of the trip cost will be donated to the Free the Bears Fund.”
