DATA, CLOUDS & CATS!

Today this new piece of sleek kit arrived. No, not Macy the office Moggy, but her friend, the Synology Diskstation DS718+ NAS (Networked Attached Storage).

What does that all mean? Well, I now have a fast, reliable device that allows storage and retrieval of data from a centralised location. If I ever need additional storage, I can simply add it on and I can set up auto backups to keep my data safe. It’s like having a private cloud in the office and it gives me complete control of my pictorial library.

Protecting my client images is an absolute priority. None of us can stick our heads in the sand when it comes to preserving our visual memories, whether we run a business or just use a home PC. I’m a bit technologically challenged on occasion, but this easily takes care of my backups and gives me peace of mind.

Thanks to Synology for helping me keep my work safe. And to Macy for modelling.

WIN A DOUBLE PASS!

We’ve teamed up Sony Pictures Australia to celebrate the release of the uplifting, feel-good movie “A Street Cat Named Bob” by giving away 5 x double passes.

Our very own Macy cat, who is such a huge Bob fan that she even dresses like him, gives it two paws up and says it’s a “Meow meow!” … translated to “Must see!”. The movie stars Bob himself, who is the most googled cat in the world. And right now we could all do with a touching story about two souls who rescued each other in their time of need. Love wins!

To be in the running to score a double pass, on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HoundstoothStudio/ simply tag the person you would take along with you and give this post a SHARE.

Five winners will be selected at random at 5pm on Friday 3rd February 2017, when this promotion ends. Passes can be used at any participating cinema screening ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ in Perth, after its release on 9th February 2017. WA residents only.

Want to know more about ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’? Based on the internationally bestselling book of the same name, ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ tells the moving story of James Bowen who found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation. James had no idea just how much his life was about to change. He was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet.

Yet James couldn’t resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas.

Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse and comic adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other’s troubled pasts.

This promotion is not affiliated with Facebook.

Huge thanks to Naomi for crafting Macy’s scarf.
