Photography Courses

Alex’s successful Beginner’s Outdoor Animal Photography Workshop was launched in 2012. Since then more than 200 people across Australian have learnt how to improve their animal photography. Comprising practical hands-on tuition for up to 18 people who consider themselves beginners with a DSLR camera, the course sells-out regularly and receives delighted evaluations and enthusiastic testimonials.

Do you have a DSLR camera but struggle to use it? Want to improve your animal photography? Keen to learn how easy and jargon free photography can be? Alex can help you!

Each course includes morning classroom tuition, a practical session outside photographing animals and final classroom session in the afternoon.

The morning tuition is held in an informal classroom setting and includes jargon-free, easy to understand, practical instruction on how to capture stunning natural animal images and greatly improve your general photography skills. Alex shares her knowledge, stories, and images, captured over the past 8 years, and presents her five simple techniques to help you create that WOW factor with your photography.

You’ll also learn:

  • the easiest way to use your camera
  • mastering focus and  manual settings
  • how to move and photograph around animals
  • how to take sharp shots, shoot in low light and avoid blurry photos
  • what to look for to improve photo composition
  • self assessment of your own images
  • how to take your photography further

The afternoon workshop is conducted outside at a nominated wildlife park or rescue centre. Here, under Alex’s expert tuition, you will apply the morning’s tips and techniques to photograph a variety of animals.

The final session is held back in the classroom  and includes a debrief, discussion and overview of the day.

Come along to learn how to get the best from your DSLR camera with one of Australia’s leading animal photographers. It’s a fun day with like minded people, hosted in a beautiful environment perfect for learning.

Our photography partner, Tamron Australia  provides a selection of lenses to trial at each workshop.
